Hollywood on the Danube discovers the old film industry and the world of the Budapest cabaret through an exhibition of vintage film posters, a US premiere screening of the last feature film to capture old Warsaw before its destruction at the hands of the Nazis and a special evening featuring a cabaret-style performance of music originally performed by Katalin Karády, the greatest diva of pre-WWII Hungarian film, from a working class background and recognized, since 2004, as one of the Righteous by Yad Vashem. Join us and share a glass of wine and the great memories of the Golden Age of Hungarian cinema.

Join us for the US premiere screening of Hungarian movie Áll a bál -The Ball has commenced, the last feature film to capture old Warsaw before its destruction at the hands of the Nazis. The 1939 film was one of the first ones ever shot on location in the history of Hungarian film production. The cast, including stars like Zita Szeleczky, Hilda Gobbi and Gyula Csortos has arrived to Warsaw on August 21, 1939 and left the Polish capital on August 26, literally less than a week before the Nazi army marched in. Come and see for yourself this romantic story, gained its uniquness on the apropo of one of the darkest chapter of the history of mankind.
