There was once tells the story of a schoolteacher in Kalocsa who sets out to reconstruct the fate of the Jewish community in the provincial town. In her undertaking, she comes face to face with the degree of forgetting in her environment, the difficulty of bringing to people the truth about the past, but also encounters goodwill and support.
