Trumpet player and producer Barabás Lőrinc has been a mover and shaker of the improvisational music scene in Budapest. Over the past decade, his club events and bands provided fertile ground for kindred spirits experimenting at the crossroads of jazz and electronica. He gained wider international recognition on events such as the Montreaux Jazz Festival, iTunes Festival in London playing with Valerie June and also shared the stage with the likes of Thievery Corporation, Bonobo and Erik Truffaz.

This time, he returns to the US for a coast-to-coast mini-tour which includes a rare double bill performance in the East Village. Starting at 8 PM in Nublu 151, his Solo Live Act will blend dance grooves, meditative moods and all the shades in between. On the stage, he juggles keyboards, trumpet, laptop, and a loop station. His live performances always have the excitement of a journey through unexpected modern tribal landscapes.

From 9 PM, he shares the stage with American artists within the frame of the Barabás Lőrinc Band. Teaming up with local musicians Lőrinc will present his compositions from his Quartet’s albums (Beardance 2016, Other Than Unusual 2018), His music occupies a musical world on the border of jazz, world music, electronica, and pop. His inspiration is from Bartók's music to Native American ceremonial dances as well as 60’s-70’s jazz-rock.
