This April, NYU brings together some of the boldest dance-makers from the Visegrad Group, the cultural and political alliance of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The countries are gathering for V.4 Dance Festival, this rare, two-day showcase of Central European contemporary dance, offering a satisfying and intimate sampling of the fantastical and the hypnotic, the tongue-in-cheek and the playful humdrum of everyday.

The V.4 Festival, curated by Laurie Uprichard in association with the Polish Cultural Institute New York and NYU Skirball, features performances by Debris Company (Slovakia), Věra Ondrašíková (Czech Republic), Paweł Sakowicz (Poland) and Timothy and the Things (Hungary).

Be sure to secure your tickets in time. Apply promo code DANCE15 and get admission for $15!

About the Performance

Timothy and the Things will be here to present Your Mother at My Door, a duet, performed and co-created by László Fülöp and Emese Cuhorka, playing with the idea of boredom and elapsed time spent on odd and dull activities. The two extraordinary performers play with and off each other in scenes that conjure up childhood foolishness enacted with adult emotions.

László Fülöp, co-founder of Timothy and Things, is a Budapest based contemporary dance choreographer and performer. His work most often revolves around exploring and analyzing issues relating to all forms of human social behavior and communication.
