In memoriam Jancsó

Miklós Jancsó - From Eastern to the Postmodern Condition
Movie Marathon
May 3, 2014 | 7pm
Videology | 308 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

A night to remember the recently deceased director and eternal enfant terrible of Central European Cinema, featuring his seminal The Round-up (1965) and The Lord's Lantern in Budapest (1999). Praised by Martin Scorsese, Béla Tarr, Quentin Tarantino and Darren Aronofsky as one of the great directors of the century, a master of choreography and long takes, Jancsó left an indelible mark on art cinema. To remember the artist who was always noted for his epicurean humor, Videology will be serving white wine Spritzer (known in Hungary as fröccs) as a specialty drink to prepare all of us for a double dose of Hungarian film genius.
